So far, being a Diablo fans has required, ironically, angelic patience. In 23 years, Blizzard has released only three major installments of the series. However, perhaps this infamous tradition will end with the release of Diablo V. At least that's what Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra believes.

The company's helmsman, responding to IGN's editor-in-chief's praise of the latest game, stated that fans will no longer have to wait so long for the release of the next title.

Ybarra also hinted that Blizzard is preparing quite a few more surprises heading into Diablo IV "and more".

Unfortunately, Ybarra didn't reveal what Blizzard might have in store for us (besides, for example, seasons and more updates), but the decision to release the next installment of the series sooner shouldn't particularly surprise anyone. Diablo IV has confirmed that interest in the series remains at a very high level. Recall that within hours of its debut the title became the fastest-selling game in the entire 32-year history of Blizzard.

The faster release of the fifth installment may also be influenced by the progressing chances of the merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.

How much will we actually have to wait for the release of the next part of Diablo? Who knows. There is nothing left for us to do but to be patient.
