I come with auspicious news for fans of space RPGs. The September release of Starfield should no longer be in jeopardy. Bethesda's social media has just announced that the game has gone gold. In the terminology of our industry, this means that the work has been completed and in this form it can be transferred to physical media.

Of course, the developers have not finished working on Starfield and are only waiting for its debut. It is now that they are probably devoting their full efforts to polishing the game, i.e. fixing bugs and improving its optimization.

Preload just around the corner, but not for everyone

On the occasion of the news, Bethesda also announced the game's imminent preload. The latter will be made available on Xboxes and Microsoft's service on PC on the following day (no exact time was given). Players who prefer to play on Steam will wait longer for it - until August 30.

The ability to download game files in advance is a useful feature - especially for a title like Starfield. After all, the game by Bethesda will "weigh" about 125 gigabytes. The size is impressive, but not surprising, given the fact that at launch the game will offer a thousand planets.

Let me remind that Starfield is a Microsoft console exclusive. The game will officially debut on September 6 on PCs and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Slightly earlier, on September 1 (at the same time) the game will be made available to Premium edition owners.
