Update

USK's entry seems to have caused great concern among players. So great, in fact, that Ubisoft had to officially confirm that Assassin's Creed: Mirage will offer no paid subscription or ads outside the "news" section. Instead, we can expect sets of cosmetic items for the launch, which we will learn more about in the coming weeks. A relevant announcement appeared on the game's Discord channel (via PCGamesN).

In case you're wondering what's the fuss about: well, the post to which xj0nathan and other Internet users responded, mentioned that USK had a message about "turning off ads" and "subscriptions." The thing is that it was just a standard description, giving examples of what microtransactions can be in video games in general. Some Internet users noticed it right away, but apparently others panicked or didn't check the original source.

Original post (August 7)

There is no shortage of various information in recent leaks about the Assassin's Creed series. Attention is attracted primarily by Mirage, which is supposed to be a return to the "truly assassin" roots of the series. Although probably not in every respect, because AC: Mirage may see the return of one element from the new games that bothered some fans - microtransactions.

Youtuber xj0nathan posted a screenshot on Twitter, showing the Fire Demon Pack - a DLC that will enable you to get special armor and sword for Basim and a demonic mask for his mount. The image has been removed from the post due to copyright infringement, but - as always - it has already managed to travel the Internet far and wide (via Aroged).

The DLCs, however, will hit Assassin's Creed Mirage.Source: xj0nathan / Aroged.

It is worth mentioning at this point that xj0nathan was responding to a post by another youtuber, who commented on the appearance of Assassin's Creed: Mirage on Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK) - a German organization that rates software. Microtransactions were also mentioned there.

Fans are not too surprised by this information, although some seem disappointed. In mid-July, Ubisoft assured that "at this moment" the developers of Mirage are not planning any DLCs. True, the question was asked in the context of enriching the game with post-release content - including the function of repeating already completed missions - but a lot of fans interpreted this as a break with microtransaction, known from the latest installments of the series.

He started with platformers, which he still dearly loves (including metroidvania), but he's also interested in card games (including 'analog'), brawlers, soulslike games and basically every other type of game. Don't ask about the graphics – after a few hours of exposition, he can be delighted with pixelated characters from games that remember the days of the Game Boy age (if not older).
