MythForce

MythForce is a first person action game with roguelike elements. The project was developed by Beamdog Studio, known for Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear and Axis & Allies 1942 Online.

Plot

The game is set in a fantasy land full of magic, inspired by American cartoons from the 80s. Players take on the role of adventurers, exploring the underworld full of monsters and traps.

Game mechanics

MythForce is an action game in which we observe the events from a first-person perspective. The game revolves around expeditions to dungeons full of monsters and traps. The combat is very arcade and we use cold weapons, bows and magic.

There are four characters with unique abilities to choose from - Victoria who is a knight, Rico the rogue, Maggie the sorceress and Hawkins the hunter.

The game belongs to the category known as roguelite. As in typical roguelike productions, dungeons are randomly generated and offer fresh challenges each time, and after death we have to start over again. However, in contrast to classic roguelikes, in MythForce we keep a part of our progress after death. Moreover, we unlock permanent upgrades and perks, which we use in subsequent sessions.

Game modes

Game allows to play solo or in co-op mode.

Technical aspects

MythForce features an unusual graphic style, modeled on American cartoons from the 80s, such as He-Man.
