Uncharted With Tom Holland Will Get a Sequel? Producer has Plans
The producer of the Uncharted movie was asked about a possible sequel and revealed what the plans are for a sequel.
Uncharted is an adventure movie focusing on the character of Nathan Drake - the protagonist derived from Naughty Dog's video game series under the same title. The production, which involved such stars as Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas, debuted at a rather inconvenient pandemic time for cinema. Despite all the odds, the picture earned a not inconsiderable $407 million worldwide.
The show, although based on the popular and beloved game series, was met with rather extreme reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes Uncharted has only 40% positive reviews from critics. The score among users is surprisingly higher at 90%. This could have been contributed to by the fact that the movie gained the approval of enthusiasts of the original. This is because the creators did not try to just transfer the story presented in the games to the screens. They only took characters from the original and sent them on a completely new journey.
Regarding a possible sequel, no official statement has been issued so far. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Uncharted, when asked about the future of the series, producer Charles Roven enthusiastically admitted that there is no shortage of desire to work on the next part.
"Oh yes! We had an incredible amount of fun with this movie. Fans really liked it, and people who didn't know anything about the game really liked the movie too. So we definitely want to make another one."
Nothing is known about the plot of the sequel, but one can assume that if also this time the creators decide to move away from the adventures of Drake presented in the games, they may focus on expanding the events we saw in the scene before the credits of the 2022 production.
